Foolish Child #122: Butter Warmer

In a four panel comic with an ombre background reaching from pink through gold and into green, and then greens to blue, Dickens is excited because they have a package with their new butter warmer — just delivered. Their friend Sarai asks, "Butter warmer? Is that like a wink-wink butter warmer from a catalog of 'discreetly shipped' adult play-things?" Dickens responds, "It's a literal butter warmer. Isn't it cute?" Sarai responds, "well, color me dissapointed."

  1. Coming back to say that we had a butter warmer when I was growing up but I didn’t know it had a name – it was just the thing my mom melted butter in when we made popcorn. And we made popcorn a lot – it was an essential part of family t.v. time.

My SIL has pointed out that what my mom used as a butter warmer was actually meant for making Turkish coffee, not melting butter. But now I know there is an actual kitchen tool *specifically* for warming butter and that my mother was ahead of her time.
