I am a transgender, physically a male but in every other respect 100% a girl. I have always identified as a girl, even in preschool where i was much more comfortable playing with the girls than the boys. For a male I have almost no body hair but a very thick, fast growing head of hair. Juli is the name I identify with and is the feminized version of my real name that I use in public.

All my tastes and preferences are those of a girl. For example i identified with and wanted to be princess leia not luke skywalker in star wars (in fact i always identify with the female roles not the male), my favorite authors include carson mcullers and sylvia plath and my musical tastes include rhianna, katie perry, colbie calait, and girls generation. I am cognizant of my outward appearance so i choose how i appear with discretion. While my preference would be to wear full makeup including nail polish, and tasteful necklaces and bracelets, I instead wear some light mascara and sometimes a gender non specific bracelet but otherwise keep things toned down, primarily not to draw attention or embarrass my spouse. I have on occasion worn red nail polish when I know I will be in areas of few people.

I am currently 43 and happily married to a woman who is not transgender but has more masculine tendencies than most females (she was the only girl in a family of 8 brothers). Acting like a boy, was a matter of survival. She likes watching sports, i don’t. She never tears up during romantic movie scenes, i almost always do. I have much more interest in fashion, cosmetics than she does. I am more the outwardly affectionate one. I enjoy window shopping and browsing in stores, my spouse has zero interest in that.

We have always shared tasks that tended to be gender specific. We both were very active in our child’s schools (i almost always was the only dad among the group of female volunteers).

I do most of the housekeeping (cleaning, dishes, laundry), shopping, home maintenance, gardening, and home / auto repairs and keep our large home network running (10+ computers – I have a strong technical bent). My wife does most of the cooking and some gardening.

I retired very young, after selling some inventions and some lucrative business ventures. I have strong technical skills as well as several advanced degrees. I love playing piano and writing musical scores, my spouse is an impressive watercolor artist. I currently take a strong phytoestrogen daily which seems to bring my brain and body into sync and I feel very calm and happy. I went through a number of decades of intense depression until I figured out my hormones needed to be more aligned with my brain, not my body.
