The link roundup is going to be a little short today…

But it’s going to make up for it with enthusiasm because as Autostraddle’s patented BSC obsessive, it is my highest honor today to tell you that Netflix’s perfect tween dramedy adaptation of the most beloved tween story of last thirty years has been renewed to Season Two!!! SAY HELLO TO YOUR FRIENDS!!

I’m finding this renewal to be particularly sweet in the wake of all the recent Netflix cancellations of queer favorite TV shows. Now is also a great time us to revisit Heather Hogan’s review of Season One, which is just happens to be one my favorite pieces that she has written this year! Now do the Right Thing Netflix — give me a Kristy Thomas coming out story in S2!! Please and thank you.

This Vanity Fair longread profile of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez by Michelle Ruiz is going to be talked about for a very long time (For good reason!). But this is the tidbit that I’m holding in my heart. Last summer, after her already now-infamous speech on the House Floor tearing down Representative Ted Yoho, who had called her “a ‘f*****g bitch,” and the racist-sexist microagressions women face in the workplace — “‘This part hasn’t been reported: The next day Ocasio-Cortez approached Yoho and told him, ‘You do that to me again, I won’t be so nice next time.’”
