Hi there! It’s time for our fourteenth episode of A+ Inbox LIVE! If you’re a first-time listener, A+ Inbox LIVE! is where Riese, Heather, Yvonne, Rachel and I chat about Stuff and Things, then choose some questions from the A+ Priority Inbox and answer them live on a podcast, using amateur recording equipment and very little editing! It’s casual and honest and very 2006. You can dig back into the archives for previous episodes to feed into your ear canals.
On this week’s show, we discuss Stuff and Things, including A-Camp Wisconsin, and answer these two A+ Inbox questions:
I come here to this box today for the cold hard truth so give it to me straight: is it biphobic to hate that my partner cheated on me with the straight cis het white man of my worst misandrist nightmares? I mean it would hurt either way I know that, but I honestly feel like her choice of partner is the worst part and it makes me feel like a biphobic piece of garbage : (
Do you think it’s possible for your depression to imprint on a place, and become so connected to it that you fall back into a hole just by being there? Because I’m back in The Place where everything in my head went wrong, and it’s like I’ve stepped into glue, and I’m sad that I’m so sad here, and I’m not sure how to break the cycle of self – loathing. I cant leave anytime soon. Tips? Tricks?
Don’t forget that we’ve set up a super special A+ Priority Voicemail set up just for A+ members like you. Have something to say with your voice? There’s certainly no better place to say it than in a voicemail. And you can rest assured that no one will ever ever answer this number. You’ll only hear a greeting and a beeping sound.
Your Priority Voicemail number is 209-877-7483.

Thank you for the podcast. I always enjoy listening to you all discussing things! I really want to attend a-camp eventually. One of my goals is to get a handle of my social anxiety enough that I would be able to attend camp and enjoy it. Everyone from the staff and the readers sounds wonderful, but try telling my anxiety that.
Thank you for making a wonderful place that talks openly about mental health!
I can’t wait to meet you there! Eventually, I mean. No rush. NO RUSH.
Question #2 might find ‘The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma’ by Bessel van der Kolk helpful
Thank you for this! Y’all are some thoughtful critters.
I just want to publicly apologize to Heather Hogan for creating a situation in which she had to turn on lights in order to create a safe space for herself in regards to her fear of the Alpine ghost. Heather, the last picture was actually Ellen Degeneres riding a unicorn.
And now she never wants to come back to California again
Ellen murdered that Boy Scout?! :(
She in fact saved him and brought him to an alternate reality where there is sunshine and rainbows and everyone eats cake and is happy.
Thank you, Sarah. :)
Nooo, Mt Feelings!
I am very attached Alpine Meadows, sad to see it go.
SAME, BUT, the Flat Mountain is waiting for us with the most open arms!!
I miss hanging out with you guys already. But the Midwest will soon go into a deep freeze, and when it wakes up, it will once again be time to prepare for A-Camp! Everybody, quick, let’s hibernate!
Only around 200 more sleeps!
the firebugs on shutterstock look like faces i hate it!!!
THANK YOU. They are horrific!
Is it me or is there always a day in the midwest where you’re judged by bug god and based on that judgement a rapture full of just one bug invades your least sealed window? Welcome to the year of the Firebug, Riese. Maybe you’ll go on a soul seeking journey if you start to look for faces in random objects in your life?
Also, as a midwesterner who didn’t have to deal with jet lag as well as anxiety and introvert feelings, I really appreciated Midwest Camp. Whenever I leave my apartment I never dress as gay as I feel because wearing a trucker hat and a jean jacket is just too much. So thanks for helping me care even less than I already do.
Edit/ *thanks for giving me confidence to care less than I already do about how gay I look or don’t look.
Riese I think Jane is right.
YEAR OF THE FIREBUG
that sounds much cooler than the horror movie in my mind
i have so many good ideas for the murder tunnel rave please pick me
Stef, don’t you know? You have always been the caretaker of murder tunnel.
i have always been in this murder tunnel.
I really needed that depression talk, thanks for that.
I thought those bugs looked a bit like stink bugs so I Googled “stink bug black and red” and the Internet told me they are box elder bugs.
a month later and little pieces of the haunted house experience keep getting clearer. riese sampled cameron talking about “bury your gays” from the second episode of Take My Wife! I’m finally watching it and had instant recognition when she says “I just want us to live” then came here to confirm
I disappeared into my basement of feelings and then came back to see that you answered a question pertinent to my life on the podcast published on my birthday
Bloop Bloop
I will say that I fully tried to get in on the NIH ecstacy for depression trials, but was rejected for being left-handed, womp
(right hander brains are all wired the same re: were feelings go, but lefty brains can be flipped, or the same as right handed brains, or totally different, and that is why a ton of brain science doesn’t apply to 10% of the population, The End)
